About this role



Kalvium is seeking dynamic and talented individuals to join our team which is transforming higher education. As a Product Intern, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product and student experience by collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving the execution of key initiatives/features. This role offers the opportunity to grow tremendously within the organisation and make a meaningful impact on the education landscape.



Responsibilities:



• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features for Kalvium's core platform to enhance the student experience.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to understand user requirements and create impactful features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Ensure best practices in code quality, conduct regular code reviews, and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Identify and resolve issues promptly to maintain platform reliability.
• Optimize performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure platform stability.
• Stay updated on new technologies and integrate them as appropriate.
• Seek feedback and improve through mentorship, training, and self-guided learning.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Content, and Operations, to align on project goals.
• Communicate effectively within a remote-first team, ensuring transparency and sharing insights.
• Take end-to-end ownership of tasks, ensuring accountability for quality and impact.
Contribute ideas to improve the platform and enhance the learning experience.

Skills & Requirements



You are an entrepreneurial and get-things-done type of engineer, who can take charge, and build the application and experiences towards it.



• Experience in developing modern web applications using React.js/VueJs for the frontend and JAVA/Ruby/Golang/NodeJs/Python and frameworks likeSpringboot/Rails/Django/Express for the backend
• Good understanding of Database schema, design, optimization, scalability
• Good knowledge of MySQL or any other SQL databases
• Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database
• Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and its use cases
• Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks
• Good knowledge of Containers, CI/CD pipeline, and automating deployments and testing.
• Good documentation experience on functional and/or technical aspects of the project
Bonus if you have: Experience with AWS, Prior Open-source contributions, and Experience building responsive designs.

• Would have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Would have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Would believe that the current education system needs to do better in skilling students and be passionate about it.
• Already lives in Bengaluru or is willing to relocate to Bengaluru.
