Position Summary:
As a key member of the Verifone Customer Enabling Engineering (CEE) Training Organization, you will be creating training collateral and conducting classroom and online training classes for global internal and external customers. Most classes are focused on the proper usage of the PSDK, ADK, CP and GPA (Verifone products), which provides a complete set of resources and APIs to create or port applications which can run on any supported Verifone platform. Additionally, you will also be required to conduct training for Verifone\'s 3rd party HW Repair Facility\'s, which includes describing the overall HW platform and how to disassemble and repair its sub-components. This position not only requires strong technical teaching skills, but also requires a strong software development background and the ability to successfully interface directly with Verifone\'s worldwide customers. As this is a global training position, frequent international travel is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct software and hardware repair facility classroom and online training classes, prepare training materials (including MS PowerPoint presentation slides, MS Word documentation, demo applications, and training videos), and provide prompt support to customers as requested.
Work successfully with the cross-functional, globally diverse, software design development teams and generate and update technical collateral used for classroom and online training classes.
Develop and maintain positive customer relationships, and provide support after conducting the training class.
Effectively deliver training to audiences comprised of practicing developers (internal and external) and repair technicians.
Help generate content for use in non-classroom situations, including but not limited to the creation of collateral data sheets, Job aids, and training metrics.
Willingness to travel internationally frequently
Develop illustrative / instructional software programs in C, C++, or other selected languages following the company\'s coding standards and in accordance with applicable software training development methodology and processes.
Collaborate and add value through participation in peer material reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
Review product and/or application information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracy.
Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing training programs primarily for internal and external developers in a timely fashion.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Knowledge & Experience:
Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and/or Engineering in a related field with 8 or more years of software development engineering experience and 2 or more years software developer training.
Technical knowledge of Linux RTOS embedded Operating Systems and Networking protocols.
Proficient with C/C++ based development and application development frameworks.
Experience developing software in agile environments utilizing Scrum.
Experience developing with System on Chips (SOCs) and ARM micro-processors.
Broad experience with generic communications such as I2C, SPI, UART, keypads driver implementation, and compliance.
Expertise in all phases of the software development process and functional engineering principles.
Experience with various Linux and Android SDK\'s would be a big plus.
Knowledge of the POS / Payment industry is a plus.
