Position: School - Social Worker

Location: Bandra, Mumbai

Reports to: Head / Incharge

Brief about Aseema:

Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from marginalised communities with high quality, value-based education, enabling the development of their limitless potential. We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri. Aseema reaches out to 4,400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist the Community Work Centre - Head in implementing various activities of the CWC
• Act as a link between community and school through regular home visits and identify dropouts
• Conduct admission process of children and maintain the relevant documents
• Prepare home visit reports, detailed case studies of children, CWC reports and minutes of the meeting
• Organize training programmes for parents on topics related to education, health, and vulnerability.
• Ensure overall attendance of children is increasing in line with the goals set by the organization.
• Actively participate in Parents meeting and provide feedback on the progress of the child to the parent
• Ensure Learning Disability (LD) certificates of all children are collected from the hospital
• Coordinate and network with other civil society groups working in the social sector

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Candidate with Bachelor in Social Worker / Master in Social Worker preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of Social work experience
• Good command over the English language
• Good computer skills and documentation skills
