Job Summary:

The Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for teaching Social Studies to students in primary and middle school grades, ensuring that the curriculum is engaging, effective, and aligned with educational standards. The teacher will foster a deep understanding of history, geography, civics, and economics, while promoting critical thinking, cultural awareness, and responsible citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instructional Planning and Delivery:
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans in line with the school's curriculum for Social Studies.
• Teach students about key subjects such as history, geography, civics, economics, and culture in an engaging and age-appropriate manner.
• Incorporate various teaching strategies, including hands-on activities, multimedia resources, and group discussions, to cater to diverse learning styles.
• Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Student Engagement:
• Encourage students to think critically and develop an understanding of global and local social issues.
• Use technology and interactive tools to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement.
• Promote student participation through group work, presentations, debates, and other interactive learning activities.
• Assessment and Evaluation:
• Regularly assess student understanding through quizzes, projects, essays, and presentations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.
• Professional Development:
• Stay up to date with best practices in Social Studies education and educational technology.
• Attend staff meetings, workshops, and conferences to improve teaching strategies and subject knowledge.
• Engage in self-reflection and peer collaboration to continually improve teaching methods.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, History, Geography, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Certification:
• Valid teaching certification in Social Studies or related subject area for primary and/or middle school levels (as required by local regulations).
• Experience:
• Proven experience teaching Social Studies at the primary and/or middle school level.
• Familiarity with curriculum standards and assessment practices.
• Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans and learning materials.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools.
• Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for teaching.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
