Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school\xe2\x80\x99s curriculum standards and state or national guidelines for social science education.
- Instruction: Teach social science subjects, including history, geography, political science, and economics, using a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assessment: Evaluate students\xe2\x80\x99 progress through observations, assignments, tests, and exams. Provide regular feedback and academic support to students.
- Classroom Management: Establish and enforce rules for behavior to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Differentiated Instruction: Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the needs of all students, including differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
- Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss their child\xe2\x80\x99s progress, address concerns, and build positive relationships.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in social science education.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and administration to improve student outcomes and school programs.
- Extracurricular Activities: Support and participate in school events, clubs, and extracurricular activities related to social sciences.
- Resource Development: Develop and integrate supplemental instructional materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Education: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Social Science, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Education, or a related field. A teaching credential or certification in secondary education is preferred.
