As a social media Manager, you will you will create and maintain new marketing campaigns, brand promotions or product lines for their company on different sites, monitor progress using web analytic tools, and answer directly to social media inquiries, all while using the company's voice and guidelines. A social media manager is continuously generating content for the company, creating new ideas and campaigns, and measuring how effective those ideas are. They work with other creatives in the company, like marketing, public relations, legal, etc. to coordinate their campaigns with other initiatives within a company work to fit in to the overall marketing and promotional goals of the organization. A good social media manager always looks for the latest trends online, making sure that they are keeping up with public shifts in media attention.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a social media marketing plan
• Constantly creating new content for various social media sites
• Identify and improve organisational development aspects that would improve content (i.e.: employee training, recognition and rewards for participation in the company's marketing and online review building)
• Create a regular publishing schedule
• Promote content through social advertising
• Work on brand development
• You will need to research you target market and make sure you reach out to them appropriately with the correct content
• Visual content has a lasting effect on the viewer. Your visual branding must be consistent.
Skills:
• Writing: Social media managers will need to know how to write effective copy in a lot of different styles, for websites, twitter, Facebook, etc.
• Research: Social media managers need to know what is happening in the fast-changing world of social and digital media, what competitors are doing and what new measurement tools are being use
• Interpersonal Skills: Even through writing, social media managers are a direct connection between a company and the public. Being friendly and approachable online will help
• Good organisation skills
