About the role:
As a Smart 3D - Administration Subject Matter Expert/ Operations IT Senior Solution Specialist located in Chennai, India you will provide administrative support on a global basis to all users of the Smart 3D application.
Work in a global team. Administration SME for Smart 3D is a global role, collaborating with other Administration SMEs under the leadership of the 3D Administration Lead SME and Product Manager. Members follow Global standards while working with the Lead SME and Product Manager to develop and implement new improvements.
Flexible Hours Team member: Respond to non-work hour requests per the S3D SLA to support project needs on weekends or during late evenings/early mornings. Administration SME to follow the Flexible Hours Team Expectations and Awareness work process.
General administration responsibilities.
The Product Administration Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Smart 3D provides administrative tool support on a global basis to all users of the Smart 3D product. Administrative activities may include:
Database Creation & Restoration: Create new production, development & training models, restore models for Model Data Reuse, create models for FEL and other requirements, manage permissions, manage temporary models including coordinating with owners on decommissioning and keeping server resources available, working with facility representatives and design disciplines on model creation requirements including but not limited to creating and locating coordinate systems.
Project Support: Create projects in Smar3D, manage permissions perform project closure activities, configure, and monitor interference detection, manage, troubleshoot, monitor and provide user support for Intergraph Batch Services, upload and transfer laser scanning data to facilitate global project execution.
3D Model Maintenance: Retrofit data to company Smart 3D standards, move data between models, track project status, close projects.
Data Management: Run and analyze database integrity reports, identify potential database problems, solve recognized issues, verify daily backups, perform routine database maintenance duties for optimal database health.
Preparation of product upgrades and outages: The Administration SME for Smart 3D helps to prepare product upgrades and system outages, investigate software updates and database integrity.
Catalog Update and Configuration Change implementation: Apply patches created by the Configuration and Specification teams that include but not limited to, loading new specs, steel catalog, drawings, reports, symbol share updates, catalog filters, etc. This process includes activities described in "Data management" including synchronizing the model to the catalog, which applies to active and dormant S3D models
Product issues: Administration Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Smart 3D coordinates with Lead Product Subject Matter Experts (and other Product SME's) to solve product issues. When escalating an issue an SME must be able to clearly identify and document problem details to aid in troubleshooting.
Other activities. Second-level Smart3D support, troubleshooting technical issues (Windows server, SQL server, and workstation), and training users.
Software Development - Based on your programming skills, you will be part of a sub team that is in-charge of creating and maintaining tools to improve the teams' efficiency. The toolset includes S3D custom commands, scripts, Desktop and Web applications for S3D teams and end users.
Desired Skills:
Must have:• A minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems or any Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing and/or I/S-related experience is required.
• A Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in the following areas below:
+ Smart 3D Administration
+ Smart 3D Modeling Training: For designers and engineers from all disciplines.
+ Design Engineering support
+ MS SQL Server Administration
+ Intergraph Batch Services Troubleshooting and Support
+ Virtualized environments (Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop)
• Above average communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Flexible to work during non-office work hours to cover database patches and server update verifications and incident resolution.
• Experience with owner operator implementation of Smart3D
• Deep understanding of Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
