Please join us and make this journey together!What you will DoYou will a member of a Database Platform team within the Infrastructure team that develops capabilities for Oracle and NoSQL database platforms running Cisco's critical business applications. The team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with experience in enterprise-level database administration and management with focus on operations, process management, and exposure to software development for building and automating infrastructure platforms, to join a team of dedicated engineers developing applications hosting database platforms.Responsibilities

• Run operations and liason with automation teams to build clear roadmaps for platform and process automation in DB domain.
• Collaborate with other core services team members to write clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, design, and build solutions.
• Be responsible for Oracle Day0/1/2 operations, abide by SLAs for incidents and problems in Oracle and DB domains.
• Observability, monitoring and alerting and prompt corrective actions across various DB platforms to ensure operational excellence.
• Provide to critical DB implementation activities like Build, Refresh, Upgrades etc.
• Contribute to critical DB Operational activities like Alerts management, Cases management, performance solving.
• Ensure lifecycle compliance across multiple environments for DB, Grid and OS Patches.
• Provide important analysis and reporting to automation teams to help develop, build, deploy, and operate large scale database platform automation using Python, Django.
• Develop and deliver automation software required for building & improving the functionality, reliability, availability, and manageability of databases and cloud platforms.
• Work with external providers to resolve any issues in the functionality and interoperability of new cloud applications, cloud-based infrastructure, and other cloud services with existing IT systems.
• Ensure the quality, performance, robustness, and scalability of the services you implement.
• Work with technical teams and senior architects to finalize specifications related to integration between numerous systems.

Who you will work withCisco is transforming its database platforms to run the next generation of database services. The database team is responsible to run operations, implementations and develop database platforms that provides self-service provisioning and management capabilities to the clients, and at the same time is highly available with self-healing, full lifecycle monitoring and management capabilities.Who you areYou are an excellent Site Reliability Engineer with a proven understanding of database systems with basic programming experience with the ability to work closely with the rest of the team from the early stages of design all the way through identifying and resolving production issues. You're passionate about this role and also believe that operational excellence and automation is key to operating largescale systems. You're flexible and willing to learn new things in a fast-paced environment. We require applicants to have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Comptuer Engineering, a related field, or relevant work experience for the position.Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or relevant work experience is required.
• 2+ years of IT operations in database platform management and operations.
• Hands-on experience in working on Linux systems and administration of Oracle Database and ERP systems.
• Software programming experience in Python or other programming languages.
• Understanding of Software design patterns, SDLC, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
• Experience in Scaled Agile Framework, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery framework is required along with exposure to toolset such as Jenkins, Git/BitBucket and JIRA. Shall have strong exposure to DevOps methodology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a midsize or large corporation supporting multiple lines of business with global presence.
• Experienced with web technologies/tools, middleware integration technologies/tools, key packaged application (Oracle, SAP etc.)
• Good knowledge of software design patterns, Object-Oriented Programming concepts and Microservices.

For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
