Position Overview:

The Site Quantity Surveyor (QS) - Civil will be responsible for managing the costs, budgets, and contracts associated with civil engineering projects. This role involves monitoring construction progress, ensuring financial control, and supporting project management teams to maintain accurate cost estimation, valuation, and reporting. The Site QS will collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the financial success of the project and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Management:
• Prepare and monitor project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections.
• Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations to control project expenses.
• Measure and record quantities of work completed on-site for payment processing and invoicing.
• Review and process subcontractor and supplier invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
• Contract Administration:
• Assist in the preparation of contract documents, tendering, and contract negotiations.
• Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Maintain records of variations, delays, and other contractual matters for accurate reporting.
• Prepare and submit cost reports and payment applications to clients and stakeholders.
• Site Measurements and Valuations:
• Conduct regular site visits to measure work completed and assess its value for progress payments.
• Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and other documents.
• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts for contractors and suppliers.
• Identify and assess any variations to the original scope of work.
• Project Monitoring and Reporting:
• Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports, including earned value analysis and forecasted final costs.
• Track project performance against budgets and timelines, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and reports for project audits and reviews.
• Risk Management:
• Identify financial and contractual risks early and propose strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Monitor and report on claims, disputes, or issues that may impact project costs.
• Provide advice on cost-effective construction methods and alternative materials.
• Collaboration with Project Team:
• Work closely with the project management, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Liaise with contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and services.
• Provide cost input during the design and planning stages of projects.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all cost management activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and client requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with market trends, pricing, and construction costs.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines on-site.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: [Insert number] years of experience in quantity surveying within the civil engineering and construction industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of construction cost estimation, measurement techniques, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in using quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Buildertrend, Microsoft Excel).

Pay: ?35,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
