Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
The Site External Material Lead is the primary contact for assigned sites for all supplier and material related activities under. area of responsibility and holds responsibility for material supply to sites (right time & quality), coordinating site PPV initiatives, External inventory, aligning Direct & Indirect Procurement strategy with sites and provides leadership on implementation and execution of agreed strategy.
The role builds up and leads a team of Material Planners/Buyers who are primary contact for all material & supplier topics on site level, fully responsible for site planning
Effective purchases of materials from external suppliers into Novartis manufacturing network. Site External Material Lead works very closely with site leadership team and supporting functions.
Acting as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) towards the sites Participation in Sites operational governance. Leads Sites PPV Review and Actively participates at Sites External Inventory review
Management of slow / non movers and write offs, actively participates at Sites Demand and Supply reviews and Performance management and improvement (NOSSCE KPIs)
Responsible for driving and executing S&OP process for external materials. Drives Material & Procurement OpEx activities per site and Coordinates TGT and LF cycles for 3rd party materials per site

Coordinates major supply issues per site and support TP External material Head with allocations among sites. Actively supporting with developing roadmaps and implement activities for inventory reduction per site
Actively supporting with developing roadmaps and implement activities for productivity increase (PCE reduction) per site and Actively supporting with developing long term TPC roadmaps for Direct materials per site
Manages tradeoffs between PPV and inventory per site, Responsible for Compliance and Sites Risk management for external materials. Leads and develops the team and support definition and implementation of Procurement tools and processes.
Managing data analysis and reporting, e.g. analyzing spend, demand, supply markets and competitors. Extracting, cleansing and consolidating information to fact-based insights for further usage e.g. in category strategies.
Desirable Requirements:
Masters Degree/other advanced degree (MBA, PhD) University/Advanced degree required in Biochemical, Chemical or Pharmaceutical Science is preferred.
10+ years of relevant business experience (industry specific experience) into technical operations management with Preferably experience in Procurement or other related experience within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in category management, supplier management, or related area
