Cost model development team builds manufacturing process intelligence into the aPriori to enhance the tool capability to accurately Should cost Gas Power components and assemblies. The outcomes of this team would be extensively used by Sourcing, P2V, Design and Manufacturing teams Should Cost team to enable deflation from during supplier negotiations, better manufacturability and optimized cycle times.



The Lead Engineer will be leading Gas Power aPriori customization, Should Cost generation, demonstrate project leadership skills to achieve on time deliverables. In this role you will be working closely with Should cost team, Sourcing, Engineering and Mfg teams to align tool development charter with biz priorities. As the project leader for tool customization you will be the responsible for on-time delivery of releases, automation and user-experience upgrades.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as the operational lead for aPriori Cost model development program and should cost generation.
  • Understand finance concepts that impact how cost is calculated and reported. Labor rates, Handling rates, Profit & SG&A, Escalation,, Unit cost reported etc.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to chart out the roadmap for developing the tool
  • Translate the long-term tool roadmap into quarterly, monthly and weekly deliverables for the team
  • Drive adoption of agile and lean tools during development and deployment process
  • Create cost comparisons with other study engines & benchmarking with actual data to sanity check and validate cost estimates. Working with subject matter experts in supply chain when questions arise & build the cost logic.
  • Work closely with aPriori Database team for cost model deployment into QA & Production environments
  • Partner with supply chain, Should Cost, P2V, AME & Design teams, discuss any new manufacturing methods that need to be captured for cost, understand cost drivers with new technology concepts. Help design iterate for lowest cost based on supply chain & user feedback.
  • Work closely with GP Should Cost team to provide support on new costing methods implementation & adoption
  • Design To Cost - Collaborate with engineering teams for adoption of aPriori, co-facilitate user trainings, offer tool support to ensure seamless adoption.
  • Develop documentation on the models delivered
  • Drive execution of Sourcing Should Cost project for Gas Power- plan resources & timelines, track progress, manage risk, pivot (as required), identify potential opportunities from should cost studies, partner with sourcing to leverage should cost estimates for supplier negotiations & track deflation outcomes
  • Partner with Supply Chain (VPE, Mfg & Sourcing ), P2V teams to enable Cost Out and Strategic Sourcing Pillars on Should cost efforts to influence Should Cost Vs Deals review, Make Vs Buy etc...
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions within the project team to identify cost out opportunities from Should Cost efforts, formulate recommendations & partner with P2V teams & component owners to drive cost out projects on WAVE to deliver biz outcomes
  • Develop new methodologies/tools to identify cost out opportunities
  • Provide coaching & mentoring to the team on Mfg, Cost out processes & negotiation dynamics.
  • Work closely with Cost model development program team in providing insights on costing methods improvement & validation.
Required Qualifications
  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Product Management & Product Manager. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
