This opening is for one of the India's leading Pet Bottle manufacturing Unit.
Position Summary:
The Shift Incharge - Quality Control is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality control operations during the assigned shift. This role involves managing a team of QC technicians, ensuring compliance with quality standards, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. The Shift Incharge will play a critical role in maintaining product quality and ensuring that processes meet company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Shift Management:
Supervise and lead the QC team during the assigned shift, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Ensure that all QC activities are carried out according to established quality procedures, standards, and safety regulations.
Assign tasks to team members, monitor performance, and provide guidance when necessary.
Maintain shift documentation, including reports, logs, and data entries.
Quality Inspections & Testing:
Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
Conduct periodic quality checks and tests to ensure the product meets quality standards.
Perform calibration and maintenance of QC testing equipment.
Identify any non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Team Coordination and Training:
Train, guide, and motivate QC staff to enhance their technical skills and improve overall team performance.
Ensure the team is well-trained on new product specifications, testing methods, and quality assurance procedures.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality within the team.
Quality Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including inspection logs, test results, and deviations.
Ensure all data is entered into the company's quality management system (QMS) and is easily accessible for audits.
Prepare and review reports on quality performance, deviations, and improvements for upper management.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
Quickly address and resolve any quality-related issues during the shift.
Collaborate with production teams to address quality concerns and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Provide timely feedback to other departments regarding quality issues and corrective actions.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry standards (ISO, GMP, FDA, etc.) during QC activities.
Promote adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
Ensure that the QC department follows proper waste management and housekeeping protocols.
Reporting & Communication:
Report any critical issues or quality deviations to the QC Manager and/or production supervisor.
Participate in daily or weekly meetings with other departments to discuss production schedules, quality issues, and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Certifications in Quality Management or relevant areas (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO, GMP) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of [2-5] years of experience in quality control, with at least [1-2] years in a supervisory role in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements in the relevant industry.
