: SHI Coordinator - Education Project

Role Overview:

The SHI (Speech and Hearing Impairment) Coordinator will be responsible for visiting government schools to coordinate with SHI students, support their academic progress, and facilitate the effective implementation of educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a science background to guide students in relevant subjects and ensure their overall development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. School Visits & Student Coordination:

Conduct regular visits to government schools to identify and assess the needs of SHI students.

Build a strong rapport with SHI candidates, teachers, and school authorities to ensure smooth program execution.

2. Subject-Specific Support:

Provide subject-specific guidance, particularly in science and related areas, to SHI students to help them excel academically.

Assist teachers in designing inclusive science lesson plans and practical activities.

3. Program Implementation:

Facilitate the distribution and effective use of educational resources and assistive tools for SHI students.

Ensure that the project goals align with the specific educational requirements of SHI candidates.

4. Monitoring & Evaluation:

Regularly track the academic and personal development of SHI students.

Maintain detailed records of student progress and prepare periodic reports for the project team.

5. Training & Awareness:

Conduct workshops and awareness sessions for teachers and students to promote an inclusive learning environment.

Support capacity-building initiatives for teachers to effectively engage SHI students in science and other subjects.

6. Advocacy & Collaboration:

Advocate for the needs of SHI students with school management and local authorities.

Work closely with the program team, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc.) or a related field.

Prior experience in working with students with disabilities, particularly SHI candidates, is preferred.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn sign language.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Passion for working in the development and education sector.

Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Ability to explain complex science concepts in simple, accessible ways.

Team player with strong problem-solving abilities.

Remuneration: As per industry standards and the candidate's experience.
