A Sheet Metal Fabricator for Commercial Kitchen Projects is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products specifically designed for commercial kitchen environments. This role involves working with various types of metal to create components such as countertops, exhaust hoods, ductwork, and custom fixtures, ensuring they meet design specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication:
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the materials and processes required for fabrication.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as shears, brakes, and rollers.
• Fabricate custom components for commercial kitchen installations, including countertops, sinks, exhaust hoods, ductwork, and cabinetry.
• Assembly and Installation:
• Assemble fabricated sheet metal parts and components using welding, riveting, and soldering techniques.
• Install fabricated items in commercial kitchen settings, ensuring they are securely and accurately fitted.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as plumbers, electricians, and carpenters, to ensure seamless integration of sheet metal components.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Identify and correct any defects or discrepancies in fabricated items.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Maintenance and Repair:
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on existing sheet metal installations in commercial kitchens.
• Troubleshoot issues with sheet metal components and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety standards.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop and on-site.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe operation of tools and machinery.
• Comply with local building codes and industry standards related to sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and project progress.
• Prepare and submit reports on completed work and any issues encountered.
• Ensure all project documentation is complete and organized.
