Job Purpose
Plan, implement & execute maintenance and repair of all the Electrical & Instrumentation equipments in order to ensure that effective services are provided to achieve organizational priorities through aligning of activities & operating priorities observing safety & statutory requirement for plant & equipment within budgeted cost & time frame in Energy Center.
Job Context & Major Challenges
Grasim pulp & fibre business has grown over a period of last 50 years and has matured in terms of cost, quality & productivity. Today Grasim Viscose fibre is branded as `Birla Viscose\' and is considered as most environment friendly textile grade viscose fibre known for its feel & comfort. Birla Cellulose plant has put up new plant to further strengthen the group\'s market leadership in the fibre business and expand its share in the world market.
Birla Cellulosic is a Green Field Project of Grasim Industries Ltd. The project was conceptualised in the year 1994 and was fully commissioned in 1998, Plant Expand in 2007. The unit has an installed capacity of 350 TPD of Viscose Staple Fibre and is the most modern Viscose Staple Fibre producing unit of Grasim \xc3\x83\xe2\x80\x9as pulp & Fibre business, with its four manufacturing streams of Viscose Staple Fibre of 87.5 TPD, 58 TPD Carbon di Sulphide (CS2), 350 TPD of Sulphuric Acid, 2 x 15 MW and 1 x 10 MW Thermal Power Plant and other auxiliary plants like Water Treatment, Demineralisation & Effluent Treatment Plant etc. Birla Cellulosic has entered into business at a time when globalisation is on its peak and quality requirements of the customers are changing very fast. Providing service with zero breakdown of all the electrical equipment is of utmost importance. Trouble free operation of electrical equipment by implementing the planned maintenance, not only eliminates breakdowns but also helps the process in maintaining stable operating conditions necessary for attaining final product quality. The major challenges for the position are; 1. Implementation of best maintenance practices for ensuring uninterrupted & trouble free service of electrical equipment for smooth operation of the process which is continuous in nature and any interruption / breakdown is detrimental to the quality of the product. 2. Maximum manpower productivity & minimising the maintenance cost especially while the process handles the chemicals / gases which are aggressively corrosive and affect electrical / electronic equipment very severely.
Major Challenges are us: 1. Implementation of best maintenance practices with cost effective solutions to render trouble free service of Electrical equipments.
2. To make electrical system the most reliable & efficient through continuous system upgradation, productivity & anticipating internal customers expectations
Implementation of preventive & predictive maintenance to ensure maximum availability of all Electrical & Instrumentation equipments in the respective section. 1. Preparation of Annual PM Planner / Schedule with shutdown planning for carrying out preventive maintenance. 2. Standardization of PM checklist with equipment history updation. 3. Generation of sectional MIS.
KRA2 Cost Control Inventory management and budgetary control with ensuring of minimum stock level of critical spares to reduce the overall maintenance / inventory carrying cost. 1. Standardization / Rationalization of spares w.r.t. make and maintaining minimum stock level. 2. Review of LCC of high failure rate equipments & replacement with product having better quality / MOC.
3. Ensuring quality of incoming material to check adherence to specifications to avoid premature failures with incorporating MP design at the procurement stage itself.
KRA3 Delivery Execution of all identified schemes in desired time frame to achieve targeted results for the process requirements. 1. To evaluate and implement the scheme through maximum utilization of in-house resources. 2. To review the progress of scheme and corrective action for the deviations. 3. To audit the scheme benefits w.r.t. the initial projections.
KRA4 Innovation Identification of improvement projects to strengthen the overall functioning of the electrical & Instrumentation system 1. To study the existing lacunas in the system. 2. Gap analysis based on customer expectations. 3. Execution of the schemes is the most techno economic manner.
KRA5 Productivity Derive maximum productivity of the deployed manpower for providing prompt & effective services to process / internal customers. 1. Daily management / allocation of planned and routine jobs to the area technicians. 2. Coordination with process for all planned & emergency job with proper planning. 3. Transfer of electrical autonomous jobs to shift level. 4. To develop guideline & check points for immediate restoration of breakdowns & emergency handling
KRA6 Environment Develop Eco friendly maintenance practices & waste disposal system to enable ISO 14001 compliances. 1. System audit & streamlining of maintenance practices w.r.t. Transformer oil soak pit upkeep. 2. Proper disposal of maintenance waste. 3. Transformer oil spillages / disposal.
KRA7 Safety Implementation of identified safety rules and regulations to achieve Zero unsafe practices & accidents. 1. To equip all with protective equipments. 2. To identify unsafe areas and practices with corrective measures. 3. To enhance the safety awareness through on job training and will spelt out DOs & DONTs. 4. Accident analysis & implement identified corrective measures.
KRA8 Development & Motivation Identify development needs for self & team of technicians to build competent & multi skilled work force for providing prompt & quality service to process. System Management Implementation of WCM, TPM/TQM & ISO 9000 initiatives to achieve excellence in all aspects of services rendered & product quality 1. Attend meetings & WCM work shops. Implementation of new ideologies & concepts of 14 KMFAs of WCM. 2. Strengthen & empower L1 Team functioning through regular L1 team meetings 3. Addressing of identified issues/MOM of L1-L2 teams in targeted time frame & highlighting the major concerns at the right forum.
