We are looking for a Senior IP Analyst to join our highly regarded Chemistry and Life Science team, part of the Global Service Operations team. The role is responsible for providing patent analytics services to our global customers including corporates, law firms, academia & government institutions, and individual inventors. We would love to speak with you if you have a very strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in chemical engineering and adjacent technology domains (such as material science, polymer recycling, new and green energy).
About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
• Minimum of B.E./ B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering/Polymer Engineering/Material Science
• Self-starter, meticulous with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• 1-3 years of experience performing patent landscaping, white space analysis, and audit & benchmarking.
• Strong technical skills for comprehending complex technology concepts
• Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with an ability to quickly learn other proprietary and 3rd party analytical/visualization tools
• Experience in various patent searches such as Patentability/Novelty, State of art, and FTO/IVS.
• Basic knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) fundamentals and/or Patent laws
• Hands-on experience on patent and non-patent scientific literature databases
• Competent in verbal and written communication skills
• Capable of working on individual projects as well as in a team environment
It would be great if you also have -
• M. Sc/ M. Tech/M.E./ Ph. D degree in Chemical Engineering/Polymer Engineering/Material Science
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including chart/graph generation, data handling, VBA/Power BI
What will you be doing in this role?
• The primary role will be to perform patent landscape, white space analysis, portfolio audit, and competitive benchmarking projects
• Conducting comprehensive analysis (including relevancy assessment, categorization, and statistical analysis) of patents and scientific literature documents using appropriate tools and databases, and preparing reports summarizing the findings as per the need of the project
• Timely delivery of projects to respective supervisors in a format that meets the project objectives and customer expectations
• Updating your technical skill set and hands-on subject matter expertise in the technologies that are being deployed and/or used widely in the industry
• Perform various other types of patent searches, such as patentability, state of art searches, FTO/IVS
• Adherence to organizational policies
• Contribute towards achieving the KPI goals of the team
• Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives for process optimization
About the Team
The position is for Senior IP Analyst in the Chemistry and Life Science team. This is an amazing opportunity to work with our global team consisting of 40+ colleagues and is reporting to the Associate Director. This position will primarily work with the following stakeholders:
• Internal Stakeholders - Chemistry and Life Science team and sales/commercial team members
• External Stakeholders - Oil & Gas, Petro-chemical, and Recycling & Battery companies, start-ups, academic institutions, and law firms
Hours of Work
40 working hours a week with flexible time between 08:00 AM - 08:00 PM (IST) and this is a permanent role.
