JOB TITLE: ServiceNow, Platform Engineer
SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The ServiceNow engineer will be responsible for working with the ServiceNow Service Owner, Business Analyst, and the Solution Architect to understand the requirements and design new capability or enhancement. Additionally, it will be required to evaluate, design, test and partner as needed with the operations team to implement system changes and resolutions across the ServiceNow platform.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as a technical expert to the Platform Owner for pre-project requirements building and shaping
• Participate in product lifecycle management, to include facilitation of release plans and expectation setting for delivery of new, changed, and non-customized functionalities
• Evaluate and assess the impact of new requirements to ensure overall alignment with the platform and current infrastructure
• Design, document and integrate data architecture and flow to include connectors, REST-APIs and 3rd party connectors
• Configure, document, test, and implement system enhancements and modules in the platform as needed
• Coordinate implementation efforts with operational change and production processes to ensure minimal impact to production and compatibility with other system maintenance activities
• Assess impact of designed client scripts, business rules, and workflows and partner with respective resources for implementation
• Follow Agile methodology during design, build and deployment
• Support knowledge transfer as part of the operational model
• Create and maintain system design and architecture documentation
• Work with the Platform Owner, Business Analyst and Solution Architect to identify and implement automation opportunities
• Serve as a technical expert across all in scope platform applications, modules, and integrations
• Establish and maintain a strong partnership with parallel operational system administrators to maintain continuity of data flow for system integrations
• Evaluate, test, and implement role structure(s) to optimize support workflow and relationship between operations and process/technology owners
Requirements
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a ServiceNow Engineer, IT Service Management or similar role utilizing ServiceNow
• 3+ years of ServiceNow design and implementation experience across the platform
• In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow platform and its modules, including, but not limited to IT Service Management, IT Business Management, IT Operations Management, Risk, and Software Asset Management
• Significant experience with ServiceNow Integration Hub activity designer, activity packs, and orchestration
• Thorough understanding of ServiceNow integrations, database hierarchies and design
• In depth understanding of CMDB, Common Service Data Model and Service Mapping
• Proven experience in creating and configuring forms in ServiceNow.
• Solid experience in creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex flows using Flow Designer and Workflow Editor
• JavaScript experience
• Proficient in using ServiceNow APIs (REST, SOAP) to integrate with other services.
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies will be an advantage.
Qualifications
• Certified ServiceNow System Administrator
• Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist or equivalent experience
• Certified ServiceNow Application Developer or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4 processes
• Bachelor's in computer science, information technology or related technology field
