Job Title: Service Manager Software License Where you fit in? This position is a member of the Software Asset Management in IDSO OIC team. The Service Manager Software License role actively participates in the day-to-day delivery of the software license management service for Shells extensive ERP/SAP landscape. This includes but is not limited to the successful execution of repeatable and consistent software license compliance assessments, supporting remediation of compliance gaps and driving continuous process improvement. The role will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the complex framework necessary to implement appropriate license cost recovery from the businesses. Natural teams are formed across the ERP portfolio with significant interaction with very senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will have experience with complex ERP/SAP landscapes within global organizations, and knowledge of the software license management processes. A proven track record in taking initiative to identify and drive implementation of process improvements is key to success in this role. Activities include but are not limited to:
End to end ownership of complex cost recovery model and handoffs; ensuring accurate, consumption driven recovery is executed in a timely manner across Shell businesses including JVs.
Generation and analysis of operational intelligence to inform operational improvements, business decisions and contract optimization.
Identification & delivery of continuous improvement initiatives
Taking initiative and fostering collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, process improvements, as well as identifying and escalating risks and issues
What's the role? Accountabilities
Design and implementation of software license recovery processes, ensuring that they are fit-for-purpose, meeting IT Control requirements, delivering the right business value and that related tooling design is defined.
Focal point for specific ERP Portfolio vendor compliance reports; driving insights and identifying contract optimization levers
Driving value from delivery of comprehensive MI landscape; providing timely operational intelligence to decision makers.
Managing Senior stakeholder expectations and communications requirements
What we need from you? Qualifications and Skills:
Typical Years of Experience: 9 to 12 years in IT
Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT
Deep skills in data modelling; analysis & visualization
Skilled in effective problem solving.
Experience with SAP license management across complex landscapes
Able to work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and take responsibility for delivery to key timeframes.
Experience coordinating, planning and delivering with limited direction; able to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated ability to influence at levels above/below his/her role in the organization.
Keen attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Fluent in the English language both verbal and written.
