Role Definition:
The Electrical Service Engineer in the Crane industry plays a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems and controls within Cranes and Hoist. This role combines technical expertise in electrical engineering with hands on maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer interaction skills to support the efficient functioning of crane systems.

Task and Activities:
• Installation and Commissioning:
• Task: Install and commission electrical components and systems for Cranes and Hoist according to engineering designs and specifications.
• Activities: Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Ensure correct wiring and connections of motors, controllers, VFD, sensors, and safety devices. Perform functional tests to verify proper operation.
• Annual Maintenance and Health Check-up:
• Task: Perform regular maintenance and Health Check-up of electrical systems to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance.
• Activities: Conduct routine inspections of electrical components such as contactors, relays, limit switches, and power distribution panels. Clean, lubricate, and adjust components as necessary. Check for signs of wear, corrosion, or overheating. Perform electrical testing and calibration to maintain accuracy and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and Repair:
• Task: Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and malfunctions in Cranes and Hoist to minimize downtime.
• Activities: Utilize diagnostic tools such as multi-meters, and insulation testers to identify root causes of electrical issues. Analyse VFD program logs and error codes. Repair or replace faulty components including motors, drives, sensors, and control panels. Ensure repairs are conducted safely and efficiently.
• Safety Compliance:
• Task: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during all electrical maintenance and repair activities.
• Activities: Follow lockout/tagout procedures to isolate electrical systems safely. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Verify electrical installations and repairs comply with local and national electrical codes. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety improvements as necessary.
• Customer Support and Training:
• Task: Provide technical support and training to customers and crane operators on electrical systems and troubleshooting procedures.
• Activities: Communicate effectively with customers to understand and address their technical inquiries and issues. Train operators and maintenance personnel on proper operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical components. Offer guidance on safety practices and emergency procedures.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Task: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
• Activities: Document findings from inspections and maintenance tasks. Prepare detailed service reports including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for further action. Update equipment manuals and technical documentation with relevant changes and improvements.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Task: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in electrical maintenance practices.
• Activities: Participate in root cause analysis of recurring electrical issues. Propose and implement enhancements to maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in electrical engineering for Cranes and Hoist.
• Task: Respond promptly to emergency service calls and breakdowns to restore crane operation.
• Activities: Prioritize and expedite troubleshooting efforts during critical situations. Coordinate with teams to expedite parts delivery and repairs. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and minimize downtime.

Requirements:
• A bachelor's Degree/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience in a similar role within the industrial sector with 2-6 years of Experience.
• In-depth understanding of electrical systems, components, and control systems relevant to cranes.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment, preferably including cranes or heavy machinery.
• Knowledge of VFDs and other control systems used in crane operations. Understanding of safety standards specific to crane operations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of electrical issues and implement appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently. Benefits:
