Follow us on: | | |The Indirect Tax Leader at NIQ leads our Indirect Tax Support team within the Global Finance Operations team. This strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of indirect tax compliance, managing indirect tax provisions, and coordinating with external advisors and tax authorities to ensure compliance with applicable indirect tax laws and regulations. As the Indirect Tax Leader, you will ensure that all activities related to indirect taxation are executed with high standards of efficiency and effectiveness and are in compliance with global indirect tax laws and regulations. Reporting directly to Finance Operations Leadership, this role manages a team of approximately 10-15 associates, including Indirect Tax Analysts, and is key to maintaining clear service level agreements with various internal stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:

  • Indirect Tax Compliance Management: Oversee the complete indirect tax compliance lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate filings of all indirect tax returns.
  • Strategic Oversight: Develop and implement strategies for efficient indirect tax management, including VAT, GST, Sales and Use Taxes and other applicable taxes across various jurisdictions.
  • Process Optimization: Continually assess and enhance indirect tax processes and systems to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build, mentor, and lead a team of indirect tax professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of changes in indirect tax regulations and adjust strategies and processes accordingly to maintain compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of the indirect tax strategy with overall business objectives.
  • External Coordination: Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities to resolve issues, optimize tax positions, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
QualificationsQualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field. A professional certification (CPA, CA, CTA) in taxation is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax management, with a strong focus on indirect taxation within a multinational corporation or consulting firm.
  • Expert Knowledge of Indirect Taxation: Extensive knowledge of VAT, GST, and other sales and use taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a tax team, with strong mentoring and development capabilities.
  • Analytical Abilities: Exceptional analytical skills to manage large datasets and interpret tax laws and regulations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to address tax issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: High level of proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP), indirect tax technology solutions (e.g., Vertex and ONESOURCE Indirect Tax), and other data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
