At NIQ, the BASES and CMI Service Delivery Leader is responsible for the overall process execution, team management, governance, and metrics covering all record-to-report and order-to-cash shared services accounting processing and compliance for the BASES and CMI business units' activities.
Responsibilities
• Deliver, standardize, and drive efficiency in continuous finance processes in record-to-report (R2R) and order-to-cash (OTC) shared services accounting processes for the global BASES and CMI business units.
• Lead the BASES and CMI shared services accounting teams, including process management and related governance.
• Ensure delivery of BASES and CMI R2R and OTC shared service center activities globally - manage R2R and OTC shared service center quality levels through service level agreements, performance metrics, and continuous governance activities.
• Run all periodic processes related to BASES and CMI general financial accounting, including month-end activities, account reconciliations, periodic reporting, metrics, governance, and internal controls.
• Collaborate and partner with the BASES and CMI COE leaders on transformation efforts.
• Work with Business Finance and Global Center of Excellence (COE) colleagues to maintain best-in-class processes and application of policies.
• Develop and implement procedures and operational ways of work in a standardized, efficient, and effective manner for BASES and CMI globally for general financial accounting stream.
• Maintain general financial accounting related internal controls for BASES and CMI globally; ensure robust account reconciliations and SOX compliance.
• Maintain thorough and current understanding of GAAP. Keep abreast of emerging accounting and reporting standards.
• Support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements as required including process changes and training of staff.
• Support the continuous improvement and process automation of the Billing and Revenue processes by reviewing, analyzing, evaluating them, and define respective accountabilities, risks, and controls.
• Communicate and collaborate routinely with finance colleagues at regional levels, providing direction related to key processes and related changes, the sharing of best practices and keeping them abreast of initiatives that have a global impact.
• Manage the staff logistics required for standard operations in region - including transportation needs, attendance tracking, office scheduling, etc.
• Support related finance transformation projects and new initiatives.
• Point of contact for escalation and change management during audits (CAS, statutory, VAT, etc.) based on pre-defined way of work according to global standards.
Qualifications
• Degree in Finance or Accounting mandatory
• Fluency in English mandatory; second or third regional language preferred
• 10-15 years relevant professional experience with large team management in a medium to large international company
• Experience in revenue recognition and analysis
• Experience with billing processes and procedures
• Experience in handling statutory and internal audits
• Knowledge and experience with relevant statutory requirements preferred
• Knowledge and experience with US-GAAP and/or IFRS
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
• Experience with project management
• Strong communication skills, team player, leadership traits
• Experience with coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and training staff
