A Service Advisor is a professional who assists customers at a car dealership to understand their car's maintenance or repair options and answers customer questions before they are scheduled with a Technician.
We are looking for a Service Advisor to join our team and act as a liaison between our customers and our Service Technicians.
Service Advisor responsibilities include greeting customers, listening to their needs and scheduling appointments as needed. They may also include setting up loaner cars and verifying insurance before maintenance is scheduled.
Ultimately, you will work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide our Service Technicians with the information required to provide excellent service.
Responsibilities
• Greet customers when they arrive at the parts and service center and direct them to an available mechanic
• Consult with mechanics about necessary repairs and possible alternatives to expensive work
• Provide customers with in-depth information about available aftermarket and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part options
• Answer questions about service outcome (after consulting with mechanic if necessary)
• Advise customers about warranty protections and potential cost savings
• Help customers decide between trading in a car and fixing it through our shop
• Manage and oversee the service center's workflow and scheduling
• Call customers to inform them of changes in service or to let them know their vehicle is ready for pick-up
Qualifications and skills
• Diploma in mechanical engineering/B.Tech (mechanical) required
• Minimum 3 years' service advising experience
• Extensive knowledge of automotive industry and parts
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate equally well with mechanics, customers and senior management
• Familiarity with R.O. Writer preferred, but not required
