An automotive service advisor's role is to communicate with customers about their vehicle's repair needs, and to act as the main point of contact for customers in the service department of a car dealership:
• Greeting customers Service advisors are often the first person to greet customers when they arrive at the dealership.
• Communicating with customers Service advisors explain service recommendations and estimates to customers, and help them determine the relevant costs. They also provide updates on the status of their vehicle's repairs.
• Relaying information to technicians Service advisors communicate with technicians about the customer's choices for their vehicle.
• Providing repair estimates Service advisors provide accurate and timely repair estimates and timelines.
• Improving customer satisfaction Service advisors work to ensure a positive customer experience and satisfaction.
• Using automotive knowledge Service advisors use their automotive knowledge when ordering parts, looking over documentation, and communicating with technicians.
• Translating technical information Service advisors translate complex vehicle issues into understandable terms for customers
