Job brief

We are looking for a Server & Storage Administrator to maintain and manage our client's IT infrastructure including physical servers, virtualized platforms like VMware, Hyper-V and other Linux KVM based solutions, Storage solutions like DAS, SAN and NAS and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019 operating systems and their roles and features, especially Active Directory. Travelling required as on demand.

Candidate must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. They should be able to work diligently and accurately and should have great problem-solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure client's business functionalities.

Requirements

Must-haves:

Proven experience as a Datacentre Administrator, Server & Storage Administrator, Windows Server Administrator or similar role

Proven experience in virtualization platforms - VMware - vSphere/ESXi/vCenter/Horizon View and Microsoft Hyper-V.

Proven hands-on experience in Server hardware solutions - Tower / Rack / Blade Chassis.

Proven experience in managing storage solutions like SAN and NAS from Dell, HP, IBM, EMC.

Proven experience in Windows Server Active Directory environment including Group policy management.

Good understanding of backup, replication and disaster recovery site solutions.

Good understanding of basic networking - LAN - Wired & Wireless, WAN, DMZ, Internet, VPN & Firewalls

Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

Excellent communication skills

Good to have:

Good understanding of Hyper Converged Infrastructure solutions (HCI) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.

Understanding of cloud platforms like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.

Experience in other virtualization platforms like Citrix, Proxmox and Linux KVM based solutions

Experience in managing firewall / UTM solutions from Sophos, Fortigate

Experience in network switching - VLANs, Trunks, Link Aggregation

BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP)) is a plus

Reporting To: Service Delivery Manager

Commencement Date: Aug7, 2021

Main Responsibilities

Physical Server & Storage Management:

Address hardware, operating system & software/firmware issues of Tower, Rack & Blade Servers.

Configure / manage servers using remote management consoles like IPMI, iDRAC, iLO etc.

Execute BIOS updates and firmware updates for server and storage components.

Configure and maintain RAID using directly attached storage devices in servers.

Execute scheduled proactive support and performance tuning activities.

Configure / maintain various SAN solutions from HP, DELL, IBM

Configure/maintain various RAID Groups, volumes and LUNs

Configure / maintain SAN switches

Virtualization Platform Management:

Configure / Maintain virtualization platforms - vSphere ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V and others

Configure / maintain datastores, vSwitches and port groups

Configure / maintain virtual machines and their operating systems.

Scheduled proactive activities and patching support

Manage virtual machine snapshots

Configure / maintain backup and replication of VMs using various solutions (eg: Veeam Backup)

Windows Server Environment:

O/S support Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 & 2019

Configure / maintain Active Directory Domain Services and Group policy management

Configure / maintain DNS, DHCP, File Server, Web Server (IIS), Network Policy Server (NPS) roles

Configure / maintain Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

Configure / maintain SQL Server installations along with scheduled backup, mirroring and log shipping.

Perform operating system state backups as well as user/application data online/offline/cloud backups.

Perform security updates and Operating System hardening activities.

General Responsibilities:

Maintain definitive library for OS, Applications, product guides, device firmware etc.

Maintain and update configuration documents

Maintain assets and software license / subscriptions

Vendor co-ordination and support

Maintain SLAs and do timely escalations.

Report all incident/service/change requests in helpdesk tool.

Provide after hour support in case of emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?200,000.00 - ?400,000.00 per year
