Job Details What you will do As a Senior User Experience Researcher at Johnson Controls, your research is essential and foundational for creating great products and experiences. Your research will inform strategy and design decisions for products and services created by Johnson Controls. With guidance from senior design leaders, you will collaborate across disciplines to conduct quantitative and qualitative research. As a Senior UX Researcher, you will also provide guidance and mentoring to junior members on the team. To be successful in this role, you will need to be comfortable in working through ambiguity to translate research into insights that support great product and service experiences. How you will do it .Evangelize user centricity in the organization to validate the desirability of products and services created for customers / users using multiple research methodologies .Create research briefs that describe scope and timeline, and be able to recommend the right approach and research technique based on stakeholder needs .In-take, plan, conduct, organize, and lead quantitive and qualitative research both via virtual and in-person sessions in a complex business model and industry .Collaborate with other researchers, designers, technology, product, and business partners to translate research into actionable plans and insights that move findings forward .Ability to lead a medium to large well-scoped project, and comfort in working through ambiguity with stakeholders to bring definition where needed .Produce artifacts that represent research findings in a consumable way for key stakeholders .Provide mentorship to junior members on team, and work with minimal direction and collaborate with senior teammates and leadership .Exceptional story telling and presentation techniques of research that are tailored to the audience .Recognize and actively participate in connecting design to broader business value. What we look for Required .Completed a bachelor\'s degree (BA or BS or advanced degree program. .3+ years relevant work experience .A life-long learner, who has a growth mindset with an understanding of user research, user experience, design principles and methodologies .Knowledge and understanding of human centered design methods and approaches to product development. .Proficient in UX research techniques and story telling with ability to communicate findings that foster conversations on value and desirability for the end user/customer. .Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. .Ability to effectively manage time and estimate tasks. .Capacity to ask insightful questions, actively listen and support teams. .Passion for superior design and creating sustainable experiences that reduce impact on resources. .Comfortable interacting and collaborating with teammates around the globe .Where legally permissible, if hired, candidate is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no later than his/her start date, unless candidate has a valid medical condition or sincerely held religious belief precluding the individual from receiving the vaccine.
