About the role


Manages a large team of both experienced professionals and team leaders in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Executes projects and policies, evaluates characteristics of equipment, identifies potential project risks, allocates project work, and provides mentoring and career development opportunities for staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the Residential HVAC Controls team to strengthen capabilities in product development focused on Embedded Controls design and development
• Drive strategic initiatives including but not limited to New Product Development, systems engineering, innovation.
• Develop and mentor the team to develop system level product development for HVAC-R products.
• As program manager, manage and deliver multiple new product development or sustaining programs (or sub-programs) meeting all key KPI.
• Work closely with global cross functional teams to drive strategic initiatives across CoEs and business units.
• Flexible to travel between locations for business needs- Expected travel-25% of time.
• Facilitate end to end product development.
• Selects, leads, directs, evaluates, and develops a team of experienced professional electrical engineers and technical and administrative support staff to ensure that electrical engineering operations are completed on-time, within budget, and as per the set goals.
• Designs career development program for the team and develops medium-term planning for the growth of the process to ensure that the skills and performance of employees meet the organization's current and future needs.
• Leads projects to expand, improve or modify production activity.
• Evaluates the characteristics of all possible equipment available and recommends acquiring the most appropriate equipment for carrying out the operations to ensure efficient and optimal use of equipment.
• Allocated project work and oversees contractor performance to ensure quality work.
• Manages teams with focus on policy and sets leadership and managerial direction for electronic and digital engineering activities to ensure organization's objectives are achieved.
• Represents the organization at important conferences, meetings, boards, panels, committees, or working groups to present, explain, or defend findings or recommendations, negotiate compromises or agreements, or exchange information.
• Attends EH&S training and meetings, supervises and follows up EH&S training implementation status to build capabilities and ensure that EH&S requirements are understood and adhered to.
• Mentors, coordinates and provides technical leadership in Electrical and Electronics Engineering function to increase its effectiveness as well as ensure that business objectives are achieved.
• Identifies risks within business and develops improvement plans to control risk.
• Directs project management, capital planning and project execution to ensure that projects are completed on-time, within budget, and as per the set goals.
• Manages, plans, designs and executes policies and methods regarding electrical and electronic engineering operations, strategy implementation and controls for maximizing current and future procedures

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

• Strong Business Ethics, Excellent communication, Strategic Leadership, Customer Orientation, Focus on Results, Agility, Analytical Abilities, Innovation, Business Judgment, Forward Thinking, Listening and Teamwork. Embedded development, Linux, RTOS experience
• Experience with Six Sigma or equivalent, PMP certification, process and tools
• Successfully lead a large portfolio of projects
• Experience in executing passport /stage gate based development process
• Experience with HVAC-R Industry
• Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams.

University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience

Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
