Senior Systems Engineer IIDo you enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver improvements that make a difference?Would you like to be part of an entrepreneurial Agile squad creating innovation?About the RoleWe are looking for a senior engineer to join our systems engineering team inside Infrastructure and Operations to assist in the design, build and maintenance of application stacks for product teams working in this space.About our TeamReaxys is a powerful data-searching tool designed to retrieve chemical reactions, substance data and other related information. Reaxys can be searched in a number of ways including by chemical structure, formulas, and physical property parameters and is used by chemists, researchers and students globally.About the RequirementsQualifications-

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
Job Requirements:
  • Designing and building infrastructure in AWS as part of a product team
  • Helping the product team support the application in production from a systems point of view
  • Supporting developers with core tools (Jenkins, git etc)
  • Optimising costs in AWS
  • Ensuring Elsevier TIO (Technology, Infrastructure and Operations) standards of operational maturity are maintained inside the products infrastructure
  • Building tools to help other team members self-serve for most operational tasks
Desired skills:
  • Supporting product teams with customer facing products
  • AWS Infrastructure
  • Excellent Linux experience
  • Infrastructure as code and configuration management (ideally terraform and any of puppet/chef/ansible/helm)
  • Agile experience working in a scrum team
  • Ability to work in a team with people from all backgrounds
  • Ideally you may also have some of the following skills:
  • Kubernetes and helm charts
  • Linux experience at scale
  • Scripting (bash, python, perl, ruby or another scripting language)
  • Large scale monitoring and reporting (New Relic)
  • Continuous integration systems (git/Jenkins)
