Mission Statement

The Solution Verification and Validation Center (SVC) is an important part of the verification and validation of substation automation, protection and control devices and solutions providing vital inputs in form of concepts and guidelines for Hitachi Energy substation automation system units world-wide. SVC with main site located in Baden, Switzerland, is an accredited test center for conformance and performance testing of devices using IEC 61850, the standard for communication networks and systems for power utility automation.

To further strengthen the verification and validation organization, we are establishing a new site located in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will work closely with the SVC team in Baden, Switzerland, to build, shape a new verification and validation center in India.

You strive for excellence in operating the new test department and provide top services to the Hitachi Energy units around the globe. In addition, you are supporting your team in performing test activities in a complex system environment.

Responsibilities

• Define test concepts and test specifications for system level in close collaboration with the global SVC team and product management.
• Ensure test activities are delivered on-time, e.g., according to the planning (test specification; execution; documentation).
• Technically responsible to ensure the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the several subsystems in modular, easy-to-maintain and extendible software that meets the product specification.
• Ensure the test strategy and process framework are always up to date and aligned with global V&V principles.
• Detect and immediately report any deviations to the engineering specifications, inputs or targets and initiate corrective actions.
• Create high-quality guidelines and concept descriptions that support our worldwide system integration units in efficiently execution their customer projects.
• Improve existing test techniques to constantly improve testing processes as well as Hitachi Energy\'s substation automation systems and components.
• Plan and coordinate the implementation of the test environment (e.g., laboratory equipment, licenses, tools).
• Report and regularly communicate the progress to the SVC lead.
• Support technically the SVC operation with your expertise in Substation Automation and IEC 61850.

• Bachelor / Master in IT or Electrical Engineering or technical diploma (TS / HF)
• At least 5 years of experience in engineering, testing or commissioning of substation automation systems with IEC 61850
• Solid knowledge about testing approaches and processes with focus on System Integration (preferrable ISTQB Foundation Level certification)
• With your visionary and driving personality you drive and ensure the implementation of the business strategy defined by global V&V organization
• Your entrepreneurial mindset and creativity enable you to develop new SVC services and offerings that bring our system business to the next level.
• Very good writing and communication skills to ensure that SVC is represented in a highly professional way.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Availability to travel when required (up to 20%)
