###### SUMMARY:



The role of Senior SQL Server Cloud DBA is responsible for the management and operation of all on- premises as well as Azure public cloud production SQL Servers and databases. This role will serve in a production cloud operations capacity, but work closely with DevOps, Architecture and Client Support to quickly diagnose and resolve SQL Server related issues. The Senior SQL Server Cloud DBA will also ensure proper proactive maintenance and monitoring is successfully implemented and respond when monitoring alerts indicate suboptimal conditions.
###### ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Experience in a large scale, mission critical SQL Server environment
• Experience working with SQL Server databases in Azure public cloud
• Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Experience configuring, implementing, and monitoring various high availability technologies such as Azure failover groups, Replication, Log Shipping, Availability Groups and Windows Failover
• Extensive experience with backup and recovery scenarios, as well as advanced scenarios such as point in time recovery and working with Azure storage for
• Experience working in a multi-tenant SaaS environment
• Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure such as networking, security, access control, storage, cost optimization,
• CI/CD experience with regards to SQL Server
• PowerShell and automation experience for managing SQL Server at scale
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Redgate SQL
###### EDUCATION DESIRED:


• E/ B. Tech /Any Graduate
###### SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:


• 5+ years' hands-on experience working in an enterprise scale or customer facing SaaS
• 5+ years' experience in large scale 24X7 SQL Server
• Experience managing SQL Server using
• Ability to create and configure backup and maintenance plans.
• Experience monitoring with RedGate SQL Monitor and responding to
• SQL Server installation & configuration in production environments using best practices.
• SQL Server assessments, health checks, performance analysis and security audits.
• SQL Server extended events
• SQL Server patching, upgrades, and
• Setup and configuration of SQL Server Availability Groups and related H/A D/R
• Azure Data Factory
• Setup, configuration, management, and monitoring of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SSIS scale-out.
• Setup, configuration, management, and monitoring of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SSRS scale-out.
• SQL Server advanced configurations such as parallelism and plan cache
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and tune poorly performing
• Virtualization configuration and ability to right size
• Strong understanding of core infrastructure
• Strong understanding of storage and networking, able to diagnose disk and network I/O issues and provide recommendations for data protection and provide recommendations for data protection and performance.
