Job Description

This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge which is predominantly intellectual in character, and which routinely exercises discretion and judgment. The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field of Logistics.Responsible for managing project logistics from proposal/ Bidding stage till Project Completion which primary includes:

• Consolidating logistics plans and proposals made for earlier projects in single location.
• Making an easy-to-search retrieval procedure for logistics information that has been consolidated.
• Acting as single point contact for Fluor\'s Global Organization to support logistics feasibility studies and information on facilities/routing options/subcontractors.
• Providing leadership for the development of logistics plans for best mode of transportation (ocean, air, land, Multimodal) incorporating customs clearance processes and International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS) and regulations associated with import/export.
• Maintaining and constantly updating Global contact list of Freight Forwarders, carriers, heavy haulers, other logistics service providers with whom Fluor Global offices interact.
• Maintaining technical specifications of most of the regular carriers including, Vessel particulars (Built/Length/Beam/Draft/DWT/Gear Capacity), Clear Deck Space, Dimensions of the Holds including box dimensions available within holds, Vessel deployment outlook (Trade lanes/Long term charters etc.).
• Acting as single source for providing budgetary quotations for Buyers/Corporate Strategy/Others from Fluor Global network.
• Coordinating domestic and international shipments when required
• Cost estimation & preparation of suitable logistics strategy during bidding / proposals.
• Acting as Subject Matter Expert for Customs procedures and formalities in most regular project location and supplier sources, that include Americas, India, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Middle East, Australia, Africa and other countries/regions based on requirements.
• Advising the Project Management teams; logistics leads and modular team members on customs elements for Free Issue Materials for modular projects.
• Support in creating and maintaining an evaluated supplier list for Logistics Service providers.
• Interfacing with various departments like Proposal, Procurement, Project Management, QA, Safety and Statutory Authorities etc. for timely & safe deliveries of cargo.

Offshore /Onshore shipment coordination

• Liaise with the expediting team to obtain the cargo readiness date from the supplier
• Coordinate with the contracted forwarder for bookings based on the expected cargo readiness date
• Organize regular meetings with the freight forwarder for obtaining status reports on the in-transit cargo/cargo to be shipped & closely monitor till delivered safely at site.
• Circulating the cargo status reports to the internal stakeholders.
• Releasing the mobilization notice /shipment release note to the forwarder /supplier for cargo pick up
• Coordinating with the relevant internal stakeholders for getting the shipping documents approved as part of the trade compliance process.
• Maintaining an effective database of the costs incurred in a project & carrying out periodical cost variance analysis of the actual cost incurred vis-\xc3\xa0-vis the contracted cost
• Regular maintenance of the tracking system / report though the in-house system tools available such as Material management tracking system.
• Carrying out periodic performance assessment of the contracted vendors.
• Liaise with the port authorities /statutory bodies for effective handling of shipments.
• Effective implementation of the contracts finalized with the nominated freight forwarder.
• Approving in timely manner the vendor logistic invoices in line with the contracted rates for payment settlement.

Pre-requisites

• Knowledge and understanding of International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS)
• Knowledge of Import/Export compliance
• Understanding of all modes of transportation (ocean, air, land)
• Ability to coordinate domestic and international shipments
• Knowledge of Transportation of Heavy Lifts/ ODC consignments, conduct route survey
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Ability to adapt to Fluor\'s IT systems
• Strong relationship with Logistics service providers

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
