Job Requirements





The role aims to develop vendors to ensure an adequate supply of components for existing/New products as design changes/capacity enhancements/replacements within the cost, quality, and quantity targets. The incumbent will monitor vendor management, payment processing and vendor performance evaluation.

• Should have experience in the development of Cells, Battery Packs and other Battery Pack child parts, Chargers, DC-DC Converters
• Experience in Cell sourcing, Price settlements & RM indexing of cells is an added advantage
• Should have experience in EV Parts Sourcing, Vendor Deofvelopment, Costing, Negotiation and Price Settlement
• Should have the exposure in Cost estimation for the Battery Pack & Chargers, DC-DC Converters
• Technical understanding of Battery Pack assembly / Manufacturing, BMS assy, Hardware and Software, and Chargers
• Ability to understand the Battery engineering & BMS, drgs and performance curves
• E- Component, connectors & contactors knowledge
• Should know Supplier base on EV components (Proto & Mass Production)
• Awareness of Market Trends, Domestic & Global gov't policies, Impact analysis, Competitive Benchmark data, Market Intelligence
• Awareness of Automotive standards / Testing related to Cells, Battery Packs, BMS, Thermals etc.,
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)
• SAP MM & PLM user experience
• Collaborate with various teams to understand product requirements and parts speci?cations
• Identify potential suppliers and send RFQ to them based on part design and bill of materials received from current engineering team
• Liaise with vendors/ suppliers on a regular basis for sourcing of components and parts
• Gauge capability of suppliers by conducting design for manufacturing (DFM) discussions with suppliers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify modi?cations/ changes required and work towards reducing rejection rates of incoming parts
• Review order status and ensure adherence to Direct online targets and business plan targets/vehicle
• Calculate target costing for components in collaboration with the Cost Management team and ensure that proposed suppliers meet the target band
• Evaluate performance and propose suppliers based on suitable evaluation in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team
• Provide technical guidance (mechanical and engineering feedback) to shortlisted suppliers to meet component reliability, supply chain e?ciency and overall cost reduction
• Supervise supplier quality engineers responsible for component release; conduct component inspection audits
• Resolve quality issues and monitor corrective procedures as per guidelines speci?ed by quality assurance
• Ensure completion of the Product Part Approval process in collaboration with Current Engineering and Quality assurance team
• Ensure a smooth handover to the procurement team for sourcing material for the start of production runs.




Work Experience




• 7 + years' experience in the vendor development function in the automobile industry (OEMs, ancillaries)
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)
• SAP MM & PLM user experience
