Position Overview

At Autodesk Construction Solutions, we have 5 separate cloud ecosystems, over 400 developers across 9 time zones, creating 29 individual products. One of largest of these products is PlanGrid, used by over a hundred thousand users\xe2\x80\x99 monthly users. Our PlanGrid Controls team has been responsible for maintaining the admin tooling in the PlanGrid backend for years and is now growing to oversee more of this product. You will be part of the team.

We\'re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join this team. You will work in Python, with experience with Node a bonus; enjoy helping other team members grow and have a focus on customer experience. This is a great opportunity to join a small, friendly team and improve a product that is an important part of the construction workflow! You will be reporting to Engineering Manager, and you will work based in Bangalore location.

Responsibilities

Maintain, update, and add functionality to multiple Python services and libraries that compose the PlanGrid product

Improve application performance and ensure scalability and reliability of backend system

You will work with a CI/CD system using Jenkins, deployed using the Spinnaker

You will manage multiple services in a micro-service-oriented architecture running on an Istio service mesh

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience

Proven experience working as a Python Backend Developer and on related framework such as Django or Flask

Proficiency in developing RESTful API and integrating with third-party services

Experience with database systems, including relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)

Familiarity with basic frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines

Experience maintaining legacy systems, eliminating technical debt, addressing security concerns and having expertise in distributed systems architecture at large-scale

You should have the ability to debug and improve code for performance, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk\xe2\x80\x99s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate\xe2\x80\x99s experience and geographic location.
