About the Team:

As a member of the Performance Engineering team at Rubrik, you will be focused on building challenging frameworks, solving performance, scalability & stability issues and the debugging of complex problems that will enable the company to deliver a product with high-performance without compromising on quality, velocity, and coding standards. About the Role:

In this role, you will be working on the performance optimizations of the product, enhancing observability, developing solutions for observability & debugging solutions and frameworks and services in Performance Infrastructure which will enable developers to build, debug and qualify Rubrik product/features performance at scale. Rubrik Software Engineers are self-starters and driven. We believe in giving engineers responsibility, not tasks. Our goal is to motivate and challenge people to do their best work.

As a Senior software engineer you will:

• Contribute to engineering efforts from planning, execution and delivery to solve complex engineering problems related to optimizations, observability solutions and performance infrastructure
• Work with team members on detailed and constructive design and code reviews
• Collaborate with the broader engineering team on design or architectural decisions
• Be a role model for showcasing best practices, processes and culture to help optimize the product performance and reduce performance regressions
• Define the Scope, research possible solutions and technologies for the ambiguous problems and take ownership of an appropriate solution that involves any activities beyond coding
• Solve problems whose complexity requires up to 3 engineers
• Develop new tools or implement features in existing tools for shortening the development cycle

About You:

• BS or MS in Computer science or related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Knowledge developing and debugging in Python, Golang, Java or Scala
• Able to self-direct not just your technical contributions, but also independently plan out a project, accounting for dependencies, unrelated/unanticipated tasks, iterations, feature creeps, and priorities.
• Experience that is a plus:

• Performance benchmarking and experience in debugging complex issues
• Knowledge of Containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including quickly getting up to speed with new technologies
