Title: Senior Software Engineer.

The Group: The Wealth Management Solutions group builds solutions and capabilities that enable financial advisors to deliver compliant and comprehensive financial advice so that their retail clients and investors meet their goals. The solutions leverage Morningstar\xe2\x80\x99s extensive data and research capabilities across all stages of financial advice making the advice process compliant, efficient, and effective.

The Role: The Morningstar Wealth Platform\xe2\x80\x99s vision is to create an excellent investor journey and an efficient adviser workflow. Apart from our existing product line, we are now poised to extend our vision further to reach out to digitise the financial planning process, creating a collaborative and enjoyable experience for all personas. In this space, we are looking to build a new product line that is scalable by utilizing technologies like cloud services, NodeJS, .NET core. and open-source relational/non-relational databases.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for analysis of current application/product - performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem and designing solutions to problematic code.

Responsible for developing new product/features and assure production of a quality product.

Tests developed/modified products/features to ensure that logic and syntax are correct, and results are accurate.

Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level.

Design, develop and implement applications that support day-to-day operations.

Provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.

Provide solutions to improvise performance and scalability of systems.

Own modules in a project and take it from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.

Help/guide junior team members in completing assigned tasks.

Attending all relevant scrum events and ceremonies

Help product owner in detailing the user stories/tasks in Jira.

A persistent focus on product implementation with a long-term view of iterative product delivery.

Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development.

Minimum 1 year of experience in cloud native application development using AWS or Azure or google cloud.

Minimum 2 years of experience in modern front-end JavaScript framework (Vue, React or Angular).

Expertise in - Creating APIs using .Net framework or .Net core.

Expertise in working with relational and non-relational databases.

Working experience in Test driven development (TDD).

Working experience in SOLID principles.

Experience of defining engineering best practices and providing technical mentorship to other members of the engineering team.

The ability to build good working relationships within the team by communicating clearly both verbally and in writing.

Experience and understanding of Agile Development methodologies, especially Scrum.

Fast learner, open to learning new technologies when needed.

Good communication skills - Written and verbal to understand the current application and working with the Product Manager and Software Development Manager to understand the future functional and technical needs.

Sound understanding of how modern web apps are architecture with JavaScript driving the application flow and APIs as the backend.

Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.

Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Self-directed and detail oriented.
