In this role, you will: • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Required Qualifications: • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or Related Field.
• 4+ years of experience in an SRE role, preferably in a hybrid infrastructure & cloud environment.
• Total experience of 4 + years with proven Technical Expertise with one or more of the following:
+ Application/Platform support with DB2 Mainframe and other apps
+ Languages and tools - COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, CICS, CA7
+ Automation experience: Ansible, GitHub, Python, Java, Shell, PowerShell, etc..
+ Observability experience
+ Work Management: Jira, Confluence
• Basic UNIX experience
• Autosys or other job scheduler experience
• 3+ years of Oracle/SQL server experience
• Familiarity with large scale distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
• Exposure and experience in agile development life cycle.
• Good to have skills on middleware support for Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, IIS, WebSphere, Weblogic.
• Nice to have Unix, Weblogic/Tomcat/Jboss/Websphere equivalent experience
• Operations Tools: ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk
• Resiliency Testing
Job Expectations: • Influence and collaborate across orgs to drive SRE best practices.
• Working with stake holder to define SLIs and SLOs.
• Building dashboards using Grafana.
• Identifying and automating the redundant tasks.
• Configure and manage application pools, Create additional web sites , Configure web sites and application support
• Unix background (perform basic Unix systems support)
• Secure web sites and applications and data transmission ,Manage certificates in the Centralized Certificate Store
• Configure remote administration, Implement FTP and Monitor IIS , Backup and restore IIS, Build load-balanced web farms.
• Executes Middleware related system activities in for Windows IIS , Participates in implementation of new projects related to Applications Deployment
• Mentoring the junior team members on their journey as an SRE.
• Self-start, lead, and drive initiatives with little to no oversight.
• Manage batch jobs
