About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer, expectation is to provide technical expertise, leadership, and contribute to the success of the software development team. guide and mentor junior engineers, helping them develop their skills and grow professionally. Play a significant role in system architecture and design. You contribute to designing scalable and robust software systems. Analysing problems, breaking them down into manageable parts, and designing elegant solutions.

Key responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you apply deep experience and technical know-how in the Software Engineering domain to:

Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems

Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, and leverage set processes to reduce the time between commission and production

Authentically engage with and influence a multi-stakeholder landscape to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra\xe2\x80\x99s time, cost and quality standards

Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders, seeking support, direction and buy-in to gather deep insights about the challenges and opportunities of our software application technologies and platforms

Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, to help define \xe2\x80\x98best practice\xe2\x80\x99 corporate testing standards and drive improved outcomes (e.g. productivity, customer experience and/or profitability)

Lead initiatives or components of initiatives in line with the strategic direction of your team/mission, that have a significant degree of impact to the function or cross-functionally

Take ownership of your own actions and decisions to drive positive outcomes within your team/mission, and provide guidance to more junior engineers in order to support their development and contribution to team/mission outcomes

Qualifications:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree \xe2\x80\x93 Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business or equivalent.

10 to 15 years hands on Software Engineering experience especially on Front-end

Key Skills:

Strong skills with React.js (and Angular)

JavaScript, React.js stack (Context, Redux, React-query, React-hooks, Apollo) and Angular 12+

HTML 5, CSS, understanding of accessibility requirements

Experience in back-end development using Java, Node.js, Spring Boot preferred.

Enterprise Applications

Cloud Migrations

Security . Pen Tests, Vul tests, E8, compliance , etc

Cloud Platforms : AWS, PCF , AZURE

CI-CD : GIT, Test Automation, Bamboo, etc

Apigee/OGW (migration experience)

Microservcies Architecture and Design patterns

Spring Core and Spring Boot Framework

Hands on Experience with designing and performance tuning frontend applications

Hands-on with both SQL and NoSQL DB

Application Monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk

CICD tools such as GitLab and Bamboo

Pivotal Cloud Foundry experience will be highly regarded but not a must.

Desirable Skills:

Financial & Supplier Services experience

SAP Experience.

Cloud Platform Architecture & Roadmap
