Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Development

We are currently seeking a highly motivated software engineer who combines solid technical credentials for the position of Lead Software Engineer within our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with technology peers and business partners to build and deploy the foundation for the next generation of modern cloud native and SaaS software applications and services for Thomson Reuters.

As part of the Platform Engineering organization, you will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high performing team at the heart of the Thomson Reuters transformation to developing cloud native applications and services focusing on SaaS tools. This group is nimble and creative and will shape our technology roadmap. This role will be instrumental to enabling the current and future world of DevOps and SaaS tools at Thomson Reuters. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concepts to delivery against existing and future needs of our customers.
Your role will include working with the following technologies:
Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
Familiar with SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions
Continuous delivery and Infrastructure automation tools such as Git and Azure DevOps
Programming languages such as C#, Java, and Python.

Responsibilities include:
Understand and socialize modern DevOps approaches and facilitate adoption of modern tools and procedures by development teams.
Initiate security best practices between Thomson Reuters and third-party vendors.
Automate license management between third-party vendors and Thomson Reuters for new users, leavers, and inactive accounts.
Utilize best in class solutions to track usage of DevOps tools.
Define Thomson Reuters best practices and maintain a community of practice for all Thomson Reuters employees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in related technology program preferred
Minimum of 4+ years software engineering experience including:Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly
Proven ability to solve complex problems independently
Excellent communication skills, including effective presentation skills
2+ years of relevant DevOps experience including 2 or more of the following:Using best in class DevOps tools.
Scripting languages such as Python
Experience demonstrating best practices through a consultative approach:Customer first mindset
Outgoing innovator investigating new technologies and suggesting technology and/or process improvements
Creative problem solving, troubleshooting skills, and critical thinking skills
