We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8bAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing and maintaining a Cloud database product on an internet scale. You will be responsible for all areas of the engineering lifecycle, including understanding the requirements of customers, designing and implementing features, ensuring their quality and readiness, and tracking LiveSite/Supportability KPIs.\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8bWe do not just value differences or different perspectives. • Guide partnerships with appropriate stakeholders to engage on requirements, prioritization and release schedules.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams to drive cross-functional results
• Deep customer empathy; driving customer interactions and support engagements.
• Experience designing, building, operating and maintaining internet-scale distributed systems
• Deal with ambiguity and go above and beyond to understand intricate details of products
• Coach and mentor other engineers
• Curiosity and desire to experiment with, invent and learn distributed database technologies\xe2\x80\x8b

Embody our andQualifications:Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
\xc2\xb7 Proven experience in building and shipping production-quality internet-scale web-applications, leveraging one or more of the following technologies: SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB, DynamodDB, Cassandra, Redis.
\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with concurrent/multi-threaded programming, good understanding of algorithms and distributed systemsOther RequirementsAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred/Additional Qualifications\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\xa2Experience contributing to any existing OSS like PostgreSQL/ MongoDB /Cassandra is a huge plus.

• Experience developing with or building Postgres extensions is highly desirable.
• Experience writing performance benchmarks for C# / .NET or Java code, proven experience with tuning systems for critical-path performance improvements. \xe2\x80\x8b
