Utilise advanced knowledge of software engineering principles and practices in programming technologies and platforms to achieve business outcomes, draw on core technology and domain knowledge to lead the design, enhancement and maintenance of a technology solution. Apply the principles of design, development, testing, deployment, support, and evaluation. Develop and deploy high quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage without supervision. Analyse business objectives and translate requirements to technical implementation components. Design and build programs or application features meeting business objective and requirements. Provide accurate estimates for the development effort for new features. Provide mentoring and technical assistance to other members of the team. Apply and promote industry best patterns and practices. Contribute to the strategic engineering goals within own team and platform. Lead Level 3 or above support and technical troubleshooting activity. As a SAP Banking Technical Consultant, you will be a SME responsible for guiding the designs within your SAP domain to align to the SAP Application Architecture. This position sits with the Customer and Banking Core team. Specifically, as a Technical Consultant, you are responsible for fit/gap analysis and estimation process within the Business Case Phase. During the delivery phase you are responsible for designing Build Inventory Items assessed as being of high complexity and also to govern designs of other medium/low complexity items within your domain to drive quality outcomes across the Core asset solutions within CommBank. You would also be expected to build intimate relationships with the business to ensure we are delivering what the business wants and needs. The Technical Consultant is required to: . Collaborate & Consume requirements from Business Analysts & application architects . Collaborate with the SAP Application Architect and Functional SME\'s to prototype solutions to explore alternatives, seeking SAP standard solutions with a low cost of ownership . Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of the SAP solution area utilising your knowledge of SAP, your collaboration with production support and other partners such as SAP . Adopt a \'Design to Run\' mentality to deliver robust solutions that are fully supportable in a production environment . Design High Complexity Build Items . Govern and guide all other medium/low complexity designs with Developers & Designers within your domain. . SAP Domain (Capability) ownership & governance into Solution Delivery Managers in a project context. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: . Communicate with product and business teams to gather and analyse business requirements, translate it into technical design and prepare technical specification documents. . Work closely with stakeholders and change management to identify impacts of system or application changes to business processes. . Engage with project teams to understand upcoming requirements and provide technical guidance. . Debug complex problems and provide excellent customer service by delivering superior code quality to specifications. . Adherence to standardised development (Coding, testing, documentation). . Participate in Agile events, internal team and status meetings, in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, breakdown and estimates of work. . Work on complex and distributed SAP landscapes. . Provide support and participate in testing activities ensuring adequate automation coverage. . Being bound to internal SAP release guidelines. . Mentors and up-skills other engineering teams across different crews. . Manage conflicts, issues and risks to optimize the solution and ensure alignment to scope. . Continually learning modern technology best practices and bring them back to the group. Must Have Skills: . Strong Experience in SAP ABAP application development. . Strong experience in Performance Tuning, Parallel processing. . Strong knowledge in design principles of OOABAP. . Experience in SOA services. . Good exposure to Advanced ABAP - Exposure to ABAP on HANA [CDS, OData, RAP, ABAP 7.5]. . Hands-on experience in ABAP Units and Test Driven Development. . Ability to solve highly complex problems and deliver high quality solutions. . Passion for new technology, continuous learning, innovation, improvement and optimization. . GitHub. Good to have: .
