Join our DataBase as a Service team Our team focuses on building the most reliable and scalable systems. We are responsible for defining, measuring, publishing, and optimizing Akamai's platform. We take a holistic view of complex systems and identify the measures which matter most to customers. Partnering with multiple teams, we address difficult problems that go beyond having simple answers. Help us build amazing solutions for our customers As Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you should ensure the reliability and availability of Akamai services. You should also work with the product team to diagnose, mitigate, and solve outages. You will face some of the most complex challenges in distributed systems at scale. You will help us deliver the products as per our customers' needs in order to succeed. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Working closely with Product Engineers to advocate reliable and scalable system design for Resilience and reliability
• monitoring, investigating, and analyzing platform performance and availability by (co)designing, managing, and tracking Akamai's platform-related SLIs/SLOs
• Developing and implementing innovative tools to improve monitoring, alerting and emergency response procedures and maneuvers
• Acting as an escalation point for operational, network and managerial teams to ensure network/customer issues are resolved
• Working closely with other Engineers to solve platform problems and make code fixes
• Providing support to highly available systems that run across thousands of data centers and all major geographies

Do what you love To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 4 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Experience in SQL, working in UNIX/Linux environments along with managing and running RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) clusters
• Possess good experience with Internet protocols (DNS, HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, SSH, etc.)
• Experience with Web Services & Cloud API, cloud computing, hosting, and networking
• Have experience in Python and/or BaSH scripting.
• Be experienced deploying, operating, and maintaining components on large-scale, distributed systems, or public cloud platform environments.
