Our team is part of the Application Security Technology Group, responsible for the technologies powering Akamai\'s security products and protecting some of the world\'s major internet brands. Working in partnership with other development teams, we design and create highly scalable solutions

Help shape the future of internet security

As a Senior Security Researcher you will focus on researching new trends in web application defense and improving the protections of the App & API Protector (AAP) security product, while having access to our Cloud Security Intelligence (CSI) big data platform that holds 130 terabytes daily and 9 petabytes retained attack traffic for analysis

As a Security Researcher Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Researching new web application attacks and Web Application Firewall (WAF) evasion techniques
• Updating WAF with new detections and working with developers, QA, architects and product managers to invent solutions to complex threats
• Investigating and proactively analyzing customer concerns related to WAF detection
• Gathering and analyzing attack data using Pandas/PySpark to provide solid intelligence and uncovering emerging attack trends
• Publishing blogs and sharing insights with the security community

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 4 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor\'s degree or its equivalent
• Have an understanding of web application attacks including OWASP Top 10 and beyond
• Have good knowledge in HTTP and Web Security attacks (SQLi, XSS, RFI, LFI, CSRF, etc.)
• Have experience in scripting and programming (Python, etc.)
• Be a good team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast changing environment
