:About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use): 09S&P Global - CorporateAbout the Role: Senior SAM Analyst - IT Asset ManagementThe Team: As a member of the SAM (Software Asset Management) team, you will apply your knowledge and experiences in managing Software Licensing by supporting and protecting S&P Global from software vendor audits, compliance, and regulatory risks, and overspending on software licenses.Responsibilities and Impact: The IT Asset Management team focuses on Software Asset Management ensuring licensing compliance is adhered to, and annual licensing expenses are optimized. Both initiatives will result in reduced penalties and cost savings for the company.Analyze large sets of data related to software installation, hardware configuration, procurement, financial, and license entitlement.Participates in audit readiness processes to ensure we are managing license compliance risks.Maintains proper implementation of Software Asset management discovery tools, policies, processes, and procedures for effective asset management.Builds strong working relationships with other IT departments, including but not limited to, Support & Services, IT Procurement, IT Architecture Group, and Technology Services Groups to ensure software discovery and reporting meets requirements.Recommends process improvement and automation opportunities.Research technology and licensing trends for potential impact on license compliance at S&P Global.Participates in vendor audit activities and responds in accordance with S&P Global policies and procedures.Performs pre-acquisition tasks related to software install/license purchase requestsManages and works software request tickets within the SAM repositoryEnters license entitlement records into the SAM repositoryEnsures Proof of Entitlement documentation is properly recorded and stored within the SAM repository.What We\'re Looking For: If you are an experienced Software Asset Management professional, who is passionate about driving IAITAM Best Practice development; data analysis; process integration; and optimizing the software license portfolio at S&P Global; this is an excellent opportunity. We are looking for someone with a diverse combination of technical and business skills which includes process development, data analysis, technical research, data quality activities, software license reconciliation for top software publishers, KPI and report development, and maintaining accurate data within ServiceNow\'s Software Asset Management platform used by S&P Global.Basic Required Qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Legal, Computer Science, Information Systems or Business is required3+ years of experience as a Software Asset Manager, Software License Auditor, IT Procurement, or related field is required3+ years of experience analyzing data and utilizing data analysis tools and techniquesAbility to collaborate with business and technology teamsExperience working with software inventory discovery data and license entitlement dataExperience interpreting complex legal, financial, and technical software licensing terms and conditions and contractsPrior experience with Office365/Teams Platforms. Advanced Excel skills are preferredExperience working within the ServiceNow platform and Ariba are plusses.Industry certifications such as ITIL v4 and CSAM encouragedAdditional Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Software License Management, Software Audit, Software Procurement, or related fieldPrior experience in managing licensing for top software publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, JetBrains, Oracle and OpenTextStrong data analysis skills and experience working with relational database technologies such as Power BI, Tableau and DremioExperience working with various software inventory discovery tools/data such as SCCM, IBM BigFix Inventory, ServiceNow Discovery, TaniumAbility to interpret complex legal and software licensing terms and conditionsResearch skills and the ability to work independently without detailed work instructionsFamiliarity with IAITAM Best Practice Library or ITIL v3 Asset and Configuration Management process areas a plusWhat\'s In It For You?Our Purpose:Progress is not a self-starter.
