•Role Summary: •

• WSP's Industry team are looking for Electrical / Control & instrumentation (CAD / Draughtsperson) to join our team in India. We work on projects in process industries with a focus on pharmaceutical and fine chemicals, but get involved with a wide range of other plants too including emerging hydrogen and battery projects.
• We are a multi-disciplinary process industries design team that have involvement from concept to completion of projects. Core work is basic and detailed stages, but we get involved with all stages from site master planning up to construction completion, providing our own estimates and proposals support in winning work through delivering the designs not only as part of our own multi-disciplinary team, but often integrated with Clients who we work with very closely.

•Responsibilities: •


Carrying out Electrical, Control & Instrumentation design work typically from 11kV substation, through LV switchboards, distribution, MCC's, Lighting, small power, lightning protection and associated electrical services such as fire alarms, PA systems etc, and Instrumentation and Control systems design.

• General co-ordination of design with multi-discipline team.
• Production of 3D models for cable containment and equipment locations.
• Production of Single Line Diagrams.
• Production of 2D layout drawings for all the specific duties.
• Production of Cable Schedules.
• Production of Loop Diagrams.
• Checking of designs by others.
• Input to installation contract requirements.
• Technical liaison with Suppliers, Package Vendors and Sub-contractors.
• Input to designers risk assessments.

Essential

• Use of AutoCAD.
• Use of Revit MEP.
• Good interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a multi-discipline team. Versatile, reliable and resourceful - it's about being the right person - we can help fill any knowledge or experience gaps.
• Customer focus, commitment to quality management and problem solving.
• Lighting design experience (Relux/Dialux).
• Experience of electrical design in ATEX hazardous areas.
• Ability to travel within the UK for site and supplier visits.
• HNC qualified in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Desirable

• Experience in electrical design on capital projects.
• Experience in design of one or more of our key sectors.
• Use of cable sizing software (ElectricalOM).
• Experienced of having worked within a contracting organisation.
