Job Summary:The Senior Resident in General Medicine will provide comprehensive care to patients in the General Medicine department. The role involves managing a diverse range of medical conditions, conducting clinical assessments, and participating in the teaching and supervision of junior residents and medical students. The Senior Resident is expected to work closely with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the academic mission of the department. Key Responsibilities:Patient Care:

• Perform clinical assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans for patients admitted to the General Medicine ward.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including conducting procedures and coordinating multidisciplinary care.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and ensure timely documentation in patient records.
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in the hospital\'s on-call rotation.

Teaching and Mentorship:

• Supervise and mentor junior residents, interns, and medical students during their rotations in General Medicine.
• Lead clinical teaching rounds, case discussions, and educational sessions for trainees.
• Provide constructive feedback to junior staff and contribute to their professional development.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient management and treatment plans.

Research and Academic Activities:

• Engage in clinical research projects within the department and contribute to the publication of findings in medical journals.
• Participate in academic activities, including seminars, workshops, and conferences.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines in the department.

Professional Development:

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in General Medicine through continuous medical education (CME) activities.
• Attend relevant training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:Education:

• M.B.B.S. and M.D. in General Medicine or an equivalent postgraduate qualification from a recognized institution.

Experience:

• Completion of a residency program in General Medicine, with experience in managing a wide range of medical conditions.
• Previous experience in teaching and supervising medical trainees is desirable.

Skills:

• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with the ability to manage complex medical cases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
