About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 Senior Quality Engineer (Quality Assurance (QA) Lead) The QA Lead communicates and leads testing activities within PEOPLE, LEGAL, RISK & COMPLIANCE TECHNOLOGY. The QA Lead interacts with the QA Manager, internal and external (vendor) Development Leads, development and QA teams, IT management and business partners. He/she directly manages the internal QA staff, works directly in testing as needed and works with remote / offshore development and QA teams. Acts as the single point of contact for testing related activities in a process area or work stream. Ensures adequate test resource coverage and facilities. Helps business partners and development team(s) design testability and supportability into requirements. Leads the design and creation of the overall Test Strategy, Test Plans Test Scenarios/Cases and Test Scripts for testing project/activity. Facilitates design, building and executing the Systems Integration Testing (SIT); User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Ensures that the QA team completes testing deliverables on time with quality. Identifies and escalates testing issues; defect show-stoppers; impact of defects on customers; and risk of specific software changes. Actively works with teams to complete root cause analysis (RCA) to proactively improve processes, reduce risk, eliminate defects, and show stoppers. Prepares and presents reports, communications and quality assurance training materials, providing recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results. Trains, supports, and mentors individual QA team members on tools, techniques, policies, procedures, standards, and methodologies. Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skill. Prepares software quality metrics and periodic reports, and Dashboard of team activities and results. High standards of confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and trust. Coordinate with QA team to track the execution status communicate to project leadership team and raise risks along with mitigation plan. Participates in team and design reviews to ensure deadlines are met and standards are followed. Enables successful delivery of project, program, and work intake initiatives. Design and develop automation/performance solutions that meet organization standards and build reliable, reusable, and maintainable automated regression suites. Participate actively in functional, system and regression testing activities. Minimum and Preferred Experience/Skills Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent. 5+ years of relevant QA experience. Excellent understanding of QA and testing methodologies, best practices. Excellent Analytical and communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies. Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, QA methodologies, defect management system, and documentation. 3+ years of experience as an Automation QA Tester. Knowledge of HR and payroll processes, regulations, and compliance is a plus. Hands-on Experience in one or more modules of Workday including Core HCM, Security is a plus.
