Visit our website to learn more!Role Summary/PurposeSenior Quality Assurance Engineer/Technologist, working on the Train Performance LOCOTROLxc2xae Technologies of GE Transportation A Wabtec company. The role will be responsible for creating test plans/ procedures, executing the test plan, preparing test reports for the Distributed Power (LOCOTROL) product line. This includes working closely with Product Owners, System engineers and Software engineers and devising appropriate test strategy which includes setting up the lab equipment, and finding ways to automate the testing.Essential ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Specific responsibilities will include:xc2xb7 Work with System Engineering and Software Engineering to identify scope for validation
xc2xb7 Identify the hardware requirements, set-ups required and plan for lab set ups
xc2xb7 Document and communicate results of technical data generated (Objective evidences)
xc2xb7 Troubleshoot setup issues and any issues arising out of testing and test benchxc2xb7 Knowledge on communication protocols including RS232/485/422/ TCP/UDP/RF.xc2xb7 Working experience with protocol analyzer, Bit and Byte level testing, sniffer tools.xc2xb7 Should able to write comprehensive test case for user stories covering corner conditions.xc2xb7 Prepare test plan, report and present it to stakeholders and architects.
xc2xb7 Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
xc2xb7 Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresQualifications/Requirementsxc2xb7 Bachelors/Masters in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics from a reputed institute/university, academic performance of at least 70%
xc2xb7 7-11 years of work experience working on Software Verification and Validation
xc2xb7 Locomotive/Aerospace/Automotive domainDesired Characteristicsxc2xb7 Familiarity with design, test and analysis tools and systems
xc2xb7 Strong oral and written communication skills
xc2xb7 Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
xc2xb7 Knowledge/Familiarity using DOORS, HP ALM/Quality Manager, IBM CLM.xc2xb7 Working knowledge and experience with User Interface testing
