Nasdaq Technology is looking for a QA Test Engineer with a focus on both manual and automated backend testing, to join the Bangalore technology center in India. Scalable to billions of transactions and flexible to manage a number of unique data sources, Nasdaq Market Surveillance holistically examines scenarios across multiple venues and asset classes.As part of our growth we are currently seeking a mid to senior level QA Test Engineer to join our NMS Delivery team where you will assist with implementing and executing dynamic test cases, testing prototypes, testing new products, testing maintenance releases, researching and assuring quality to aid the implementation of our global leading systems.We are looking for candidates who share those values along with a genuine desire and drive to deliver top technology solutions to today\'s markets.With this position we offer :Join the QA team for Nasdaq Market Surveillance (NMS) solution. This team holds the final gate before the NMS solution is delivered to our clients. The main objective for the QA team is to ensure our products/services are always delivered with top quality. As our new member, you will work with a group of enthusiastic and experienced team members globally. You will have opportunities to work with not only the various teams within NMS, but also with other organizations in Nasdaq. The position will also give you opportunities to work for both on-premises and Cloud-based system.Your role and responsibilities:

• Review system requirements and create test plan and test cases to verify the system meets all the requirements.
• Report issues found back to development and/or project management teams and/or implementation teams.
• Conduct a range of quality control tests and analyses ensuring all problems are resolved and that software meets or exceeds specified standards, development specifications or client requirements.
• Crafts test data with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow.
• Implement automation scripts or revises existing scripts to assist the testing.
• Record testing evidence and produce testing report after each testing phase.

Furthermore, you will:

• Use expertise when collaborating with internal or external team members to plan applicable test phases, to ensure that all are successfully completed and documented and there is a plan for problem resolution.
• Develop and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures and methods.

We expect you to have

• At least 3 years of experience working with both Automated and Manual testing.
• A strong background in quality assurance processes across end to end development lifecycle.
• Excellent background in test planning, test case design, execution of user acceptance testing and regression testing of sophisticated functional and non-functional features.
• Ability to work outside of testing principles i.e. able to create test cases and plans without proper requirements or acceptance criteria.
• Must have experience with Linux commands and proficiency in data-mining using various Linux command line tools (awk, grep, sed, etc.) to extract and manipulate data in text files.
• Knowledge and experience in development of automation scripts in Java or Python.
• An analytical thinker with a structured approach, a great teammate and someone who has a goal for improving business standard processes and a passion for problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills; emphasis on ability to identify and question vague requirements as well as being comfortable in presenting testing strategies in front of any audience.
• Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

It would be great if you :

• Background in Cloud based testing, Cloud services and technologies as well as Cloud deployment.
• Knowledge of the financial markets.
• Exposure to version control repositories such as SVN, GIT and BitBucket.
