Accountable for leading team members including their ongoing development and their assignment on projects in compliance with company requirements.Job Responsibilities:Business Development Support:\xc2\xb7 Assists business development activities by facilitating the maintenance of personal profiles and resumes, tracking existing capabilities, and strategically addressing future customer capability requirements.\xc2\xb7 Encourages positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors.\xc2\xb7 Involved in networking, negotiations, strategic alliancing, and cost savings efforts.\xc2\xb7 Stewards the maintenance of pricing records reflecting the effort to complete discipline activities.\xc2\xb7 Supports proposals by developing the engineering execution strategy, reviewing costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers. May be called upon to lead part or all of a proposal.Business Operations:\xc2\xb7 Participates in budgeting and manage engineering operations to the budget.\xc2\xb7 Controls engineering staffing levels, organizational structure, and monitors project discipline structures.\xc2\xb7 Administers engineering software licensing and costs.\xc2\xb7 Creates and maintains engineering guidelines.\xc2\xb7 Ensures mentoring/training requirements are met.\xc2\xb7 Manages the employee performance review process.\xc2\xb7 Facilitates coverage of activities when people leave the team.\xc2\xb7 Contributes to dispute resolution efforts.\xc2\xb7 Ensures cross-discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.Technical Competency:\xc2\xb7 Owns engineering technical competency and quality programs and oversees technical competency of those within the location.\xc2\xb7 Ensures team member adherence to company processes, generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.\xc2\xb7 Supports global standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates and oversees use by the team.\xc2\xb7 Assures the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.\xc2\xb7 Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Stewards discipline checking and technical peer reviews.Project Execution:\xc2\xb7 Facilitates meeting project requirements through the use of engineering guidelines, programs, and management of the resources allocated to projects.\xc2\xb7 May participate in project execution strategy and planning. Drives innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.\xc2\xb7 May work with Project Management Teams to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.\xc2\xb7 Reviews and authorizes work done by Discipline ManagersQualificationsQualifications:To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:\xc2\xb7 A B.S. or equivalent degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical or others depending on the nature of the Project) from an accredited University and minimum of ten (10) years of first class experience in similar position. An advanced degree in Business Administration or Engineering Management is desirable. Requires demonstrated ability to manage Engineering efforts for major projects in major oil and gas companies, in-house or as part of Consultant\xe2\x80\x99s team.
