Senior Project Engineer

You will be working as Senior Project Engineer, reporting to Senior Engineering Manager for Process Automation business area, Process Industries division based in Bangalore, India. You will be responsible for leading projects and to do engineering, start-up of assigned projects in time and providing technical service / support to customers

Your responsibilities

• Following and applying standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform the job
• Collaborating on project installation, commissioning and site activity. Providing technical support to commissioning and startup activities
• Interacting with customer, contractors and vendors. Attending project meetings and presenting all technical aspects of project assignments
• Collaborating with engineering colleagues within ABB. Sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines
• Leading, supervising and coordinating with teams in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on low complexity projects. Leading single or multi-discipline engineering teams of less than 5 resources
• Delivering as built and as commissioned documents, ensuring the quality of engineering deliverable

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in automation solutions by similar suppliers in metal industry
• Experience in engineering/ commissioning/ trouble shooting/ servicing automation and drive systems preferably in hot metal rolling or profile mill applications
• Knowledge in DCS/ PLC HW/SW components
• Knowledge of IT/ Network/ Peripherals like UPS, Printer, PCs, server components of DCS system
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
