In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state
governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child
health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These
programs are funded by USAID, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, UNICEF, World Health
Organization, University of Manitoba, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children\xe2\x80\x99s Investment Fund
Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and others.
Manyata is an initiative that is funded by MSD for mothers with a vision to improve maternal health
outcomes by improving quality of care in the private sector. It has successfully completed three
rounds of funding and is currently in its fourth phase of implementation.
Under Manyata 4.0, Jhpiego is hiring a Senior Program Officer based at ICO, Delhi. The Position will
be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day implementation of the program activities, along with
supporting new program development in immunisation portfolio. While Manyata 4.0 seeks to
provide technical assistance to the state, in collaboration with FOGSI, in improving quality of care in
Maternal and Newborn Health services, particularly in the private sector.
Responsibilities
Implementation support for Manyata programs
o Provide technical input and support the design and implementation of all project
activities to achieve desired results.
o Initiate, build and strengthen relationships with various stakeholders at the country
levelto achieve program objectives.
o Work in coordination with program stakeholders such as State and District officials,
partner organizations, representatives of state and district level professional
associations (e.g., FOGSI, IMA) to develop, implement, monitor and report on program
activities including work plans, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework and
reports.
o Travel to the program intervention districts in support of activity implementation and
monitoring as needed.
Technical support
o Provide country level technical support to the Maternal Health divisions and district
clinical and administrative teams for implementing quality improvement processes and
systems as per the program strategy.
o Provide support to the states in clinical governance through strengthening of maternal
death audits and reviews.
o Provide support to activities related to research and evidence synthesis in MNH and
immunisation domains.
o Provide support to the immunisation vertical in program activities, and resource
mobilisation particularly through new program development.
o Assist in the development of training materials, performance standards and job aids to
support the strengthening of maternity services in the state
Data for action
o Establish systems for tracking progress, indicators, and deliverables according to
agreed work plans and prepare program reports for department officials
o In collaboration with the monitoring and evaluation team, generate evidence for
appropriate revision to workplans and project activities
Program Management support:
o Work with team members to develop and produce learning resource packages,
documents, reports, proposals, and presentations according to program and Jhpiego /
government guidelines for internal and external dissemination.
IEC
o Support the Communications team of Jhpiego and department in drafting IEC
materials, success stories and facts in consultation with the program team members.
Support documentation of project results, successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
Perform or assume other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government\xe2\x80\x99s Reproductive Health and
Child Health programs, counterparts, and systems.
Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Hindi, and local language.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other
organizations including government counterparts.
Ability to work within a consortium and communicate regularly with a variety of team members
in multiple locations.
Technically proficient with skills required for the assigned task.
Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders, and other
organizations.
Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural team.
Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks.
Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to travel extensively up to 50\xe2\x80\x9360% of his/her time.
